Biljana Tatomir appointed IMS Director of Programme Strategy and Policy

Media development expert Biljana Tatomir joins IMS as Director of Programme Strategy and Policy in IMS from 15 August 2011
As Director of Programme Strategy and Policy and Deputy to the Executive Director, Biljana Tatomir will lead IMS strategy development within the organisation and will oversee IMS activities in the Arab World, Eastern Europe and CIS countries. She will also be integral in preserving and strengthening the international and national partnerships that IMS has cultivated over the past ten years.
Biljana Tatomir has twenty years of experience in media development, both from her native country Croatia and since 1997 internationally as the Deputy Director of the Open Society Foundations' Media Program.
In this position she spearheaded the strategy, assessment, evaluation and management of media development programmes in the Middle East, North Africa and former Soviet Union. She had great success convening global partners for collaboration on projects and is well versed in the policy and development regulations of the non-governmental sector.
Biljana Tatomir also directly involved herself in the daily activities of projects in partner countries, developing real relationships with local partners and monitoring progress on the ground.
