Twinning

IMS twinning activities within the Media Cooperation Programme for the Arab World and Iran refer to partnerships established between journalists or media institutions in Denmark and the Arab region. A partnership should be focused on practical collaboration between media professionals. Through twinning, IMS aims to mutually strengthen the knowledge about Arab and Danish societies among media and their audiences, and to foster networks between media practitioners across the borders.

From Damascus to Copenhagen

04.09.2008 Share on facebook

Photo exhibition in Damascus presents the results of an exchange project between a Syrian and a Danish photographer. See Copenhagen through the Syrian optics and Damascus as it unfolds before Danish eyes in an unusual exhibition hall in the historic surroundings of the Souk of Damascus

If you are in Damascus between 15 - 29 September, go to the historic palace of Khan As'ad Basha in the Souk and visit a new photo exhibition organised by IMS in cooperation with the Danish Institute in Damascus.

The photos present the cities of Copenhagen and Damascus respectively as they were captured by two photographers. Syrian photographer Bassam Al-Bader visited Denmark and took to the streets of Copenhagen. Meanwhile, Danish photographer Hans Christian Jacobsen went to Syria.

The photo project is a result of a cooperation between International Media Support, The Danish Institute in Damascus, Syrian daily newspaper Baladna and the Danish media corporation Nordjyske Medier within the framework of the twinning project under the Regional Media cooperation programme with the Arab world and Iran.
