Twinning

IMS twinning activities within the Media Cooperation Programme for the Arab World and Iran refer to partnerships established between journalists or media institutions in Denmark and the Arab region. A partnership should be focused on practical collaboration between media professionals. Through twinning, IMS aims to mutually strengthen the knowledge about Arab and Danish societies among media and their audiences, and to foster networks between media practitioners across the borders.

A set of Arab journalists are joining their Danish colleagues to follow coverage of the upcoming Danish elections first hand

To witness how the Danish media covers elections, journalists from Egypt and Palestine are visiting their Danish counterparts this week in the lead-up to the Danish elections on 15 September. With Egypt's first democratic elections coming up in the fall, the trip to Denmark, is an opportunity for both the Middle Eastern and Danish journalists to exchange experiences and strengthen knowledge on elections coverage.

Gamal El-Shenawy of Egyptian ON TV and Muamar Orabi, Director of Palestinian Wattan TV, and are both set to visit the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR).

The project is part of IMS' so-called Twinning programme, in which Danish and Arab media professionals mutually strengthen the knowledge about their societies among media and their audiences through practical collaboration.
