31.08.2011 Share on facebook

The media's coverage and role in the Middle Eastern uprisings has occupied much of media itself for the past several months. The conference Covering the Arab Spring provides new angles on the often analysed relationship

Organised by the University of Copenhagen and International Media Support, the conference on September 1-2 brings together researchers from all over the world to meet in Copenhagen.

They will be discussing the media's coverage of the Arab Spring and provide new insights into the media's role as a tool and catalyst for social change.

With more than 20 international and Danish researchers a range of new analyses on the past months' historic developments in the Middle East will be presented.

The topics for the conference range from the Danish media's coverage of the protests over Al-Qaeda's attention to the uprisings to censorship and suppression of the media.

The conference is open, free of charge and takes place at the University of Copenhagen from September 1-2. To see the full programme go to http://i-m-s.dk/page/covering-arab-spring
