When journalists from all corners of the Danish media sector met for a two-day meeting in November, IMS hosted sessions in which journalism in China and Jordan respectively were presented at the profession's festival

The ‘Fagfestival 2010’, which is organised by the Danish Union of Journalists every two years, is popular event with the Danish media sector as it offers new perspectives nationally as well as internationally on professional journalism and various fields of the media sector. This year, IMS hosted two sessions  - one on conditions for journalism in Jordan and another one on new developments in the media sector in China contributing to a global perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing media.

From China, Li Xin and Lin Gu told about how Chinese journalists cover even controversial stories. Majdoleen Allen and Imad Rawasdeh from Jordan presented their investigative report on abuse of orphans in Jordan highlighting the openings and challenges of revealing taboos in a largely conservative community.

Both sessions were attended by many participants that engaged in a fruitful debates based on input from the guests coupled with questions from the Danish journalists.
