International Media Support (www.i-m-s.dk) is a non-profit organisation based in Denmark working with media in countries affected by armed conflict, human insecurity and political transition. In more than 30 countries worldwide, IMS helps to strengthen professional practices and ensure that media and media workers can operate under challenging circumstances.
IMS is seeking a Programme Officer for the Media and Democracy Unit. This Unit implements media development programmes in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia and West Africa (http://www.i-m-s.dk/content/media-democracy).

a) Supporting IMS partner organisations in designing, developing and implementing projects
b) Coordinating activities between national and international partners
c) Preparing work plans and schedules for activities
d) Preparing budgets for projects, linked to the work plans
e) Collecting activity and narrative reports and financial updates from partners
f) Preparing reports after implementation for submission to donors and international partners
g) Coordinating multi-layered professional media and journalism networks
h) Organising coordination and ‘experience sharing’ meetings amongst multiple partners
i) Monitoring quality of implementation and solving problems in consultation with partners
j) Fundraising, including for existing projects and new projects
It is anticipated that the Programme Officer will travel approximately 40 days per year.
