- Climate change has not received much attention in my country, says Dalia Haidar, journalist for Syria Today and Al-Watan. Speaking from the conference hall, she and two other journalists from Syria have come to Copenhagen to cover the UN Conference on Climate Change for their respective media.
As a means to offer more journalists the opportunity to follow the negotiations first hand, IMS Media Cooperation Programme for the Arab World and Iran funds the visit of the Syrian guests during their stay in Copenhagen. Over the course of ten days, Dalia Haidar, Ibrahim Hamidi, bureau chief in Syria for the Pan-Arab newspaper Al Hayat and Khaled Ismael, journalist at Radio Syria Alghad join up with IMS at the conference hall to follow briefings and meting with delegations, and they join a field trip to the island of Samsoe, which is reknowned for its zero CO2-emission energy production scheme.
In their own words, Dalia Haidar and Ibrahim Hamidi share their impressions from the climate change conference in Copenhagen. Click on the window to play the video.
