International efforts to promote sustainable peace in Sudan have intensified since the last half of 2001 and further accelerated in 2002. In order to support these efforts an IMS staff member visited northern Sudan from 2 - 11 June 2002 and identified potential avenues for rapid IMS assistance to the Sudanese media.
