Seminar on the safety of journalists, 24 October

The National Danish UNESCO Committee is hosting a seminar about safety of journalists reporting from conflict on 24 October from 15 - 18:00 in connection with UNESCO's exhibition on freedom of speech and the safety of journalists at the Royal Danish Library
When: Sunday, 24 October from 15 - 18:00
Where: The Royal Library (Den Sorte Diamant), Søren Kierkegaards Plads 1 (on the harbour), 1016 Kbn K
Speakers include:
* Jesper Højberg, Executive Director, International Media Support (IMS)
* Mogens Schmidt, Deputy Assistant Director General for Communication and Information, Division of Freedom of Expression, Democracy and Peace, UNESCO Paris
* Mogens Blicher Bjerregård, Chairman of the Danish Union of Journalists
To illustrate the conditions under which journalists work and their lack of protection, Lebanon, Sri Lanka and Iran will be used as case studies. The meeting will be held in English.
Tyge Trier, deputy chairman in the UNESCO Committee will be the moderator.
Martin Breum, journalist will be interviewing the speakers.
